Dr Mickaela Schelleman

Dr Mickaela Schelleman is a psychologist with over 15 years experience supporting a diverse range of children with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental and behavioural challenges. In addition to working in a clinical setting along side leading experts in the field at Melbourne Development and Behavioural Paediatrics, her hands-on experience in homes, childcare, and schools provides an impressive depth of knowledge that gives context and real life application to the theoretical and practical concepts covered in her training, intensive educational and developmental programs, and one-on-one sessions.

Extensive training across a number of models (including “ABA”, TEACCH, ESDM, DIR Floortime, and The P.L.A.Y. Project), and a focus on functionally and socially important skills and behaviours, allows Dr Schelleman to incorporate therapy into the client's everyday life in an enjoyable and successful way. Time- and cost-effective services are provided from the early intervention period, throughout schooling, to transition to work and beyond. Dr Schelleman's passion for, and experience in, rural and remote service provision means that distance and location are no longer barriers to successful intervention. This has also permitted ongoing, evidence-based and effective services throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
