Assessment Services

Dr Schelleman has extensive experience assessing children and adolescents from all walks of life, including providing comprehensive autism assessments using the ‘gold standard’ in assessment tools: the Autism Diagnostic Interview, Revised (ADI-R) and the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2).

Specialist paediatricians also often refer for an ‘ADOS-2 only’ assessment as part of a collaborative arrangement to minimise costs for families; this assessment then informs the paediatrician’s diagnostic decision.

Dr Schelleman conducts assessments with children from 12 months of age, and frequently receives referrals to assess pre-schoolers, as well as girls of all ages, who require specific expertise. Dr Schelleman visits schools/kinders/childcare centres routinely (if required) as part of her comprehensive assessment process.

Medicare rebates are available for assessments with an appropriate paediatric referral. See Assessment Fee Schedule for further details.
